How to Cancel SuperGrok or The X Subscription (Web, X, App Store, Google Play)

Updated · By topai.one editorial team

Quick answer: Cancel web-billed SuperGrok or The X Subscription from Billing & invoices on your grok.com dashboard. If you subscribed on X, through the Apple App Store, or in Google Play, cancel in that channel instead. Cancelling does not restore old SuperGrok, Cursor or X Premium plans you combined with Unify. Official steps: docs.x.ai cancel guide (checked November 4, 2026).

Before you cancel

The cancel docs are explicit:

  • Combining accounts under The X Subscription is permanent.
  • Canceling The X Subscription does not separate those accounts.
  • It does not restore your previous Cursor, SuperGrok or X Premium subscriptions.

If you are still deciding whether to Unify, read What is The X Subscription? first. Brand and tier background: What is SuperGrok?.

Cancel a direct-billed (web) plan

These steps apply to subscriptions billed directly on the web (cancel guide):

  1. Go to Billing & invoices on your grok.com dashboard.
  2. Open the options on your current plan.
  3. Follow the prompts to cancel.

You can cancel at any time. Apple-billed subscriptions must be cancelled separately through Apple (see below).

Cancel on X

If you subscribed to The X Subscription on X, cancel it in X. The docs do not list a grok.com dashboard path for that billing channel.

Cancel in Google Play

If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel it in the Google Play Store subscriptions list for your Google account.

Cancel Apple-billed subscriptions

  • If you have a separate Apple-billed Cursor subscription, cancel it through Apple. Canceling The X Subscription does not cancel that Apple-billed Cursor subscription.
  • For Grok / Grok Bot / X Premium bought through Apple in other flows, use Apple’s subscription management (iPhone or iPad Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or reportaproblem.apple.com). Store labels change; follow Apple’s current help articles if the menu names differ.

Cancel a team seat

On Team plans (cancel guide):

  • A canceled seat stays active until the end of the billing period.
  • Reassigning the seat before then keeps it active.
  • While the whole plan is set to cancel, you cannot add members.

After you cancel

  • For team seats, the cancel guide says a canceled seat stays active until the end of the billing period. For individual plans, check your billing screen for when access ends; the cancel guide does not spell out a day-by-day rule for every personal plan.
  • API usage in console.x.ai is separate. Cancelling SuperGrok or The X Subscription does not automatically delete API keys or stop token billing. See How to get a Grok API key.
  • Buy only through official channels. xAI does not authorize resellers (x.ai/pricing).

FAQ

How do I cancel SuperGrok on the web?

Open Billing & invoices on your grok.com dashboard, open the options on your current plan, and follow the prompts to cancel. This path is for subscriptions billed directly on the web.

I subscribed in the App Store or Google Play. Where do I cancel?

Cancel in that store. Cancelling The X Subscription on the web does not cancel a separate Apple-billed Cursor subscription. Google Play and X purchases must be cancelled in those apps.

If I cancel after Unify, do I get my old SuperGrok plan back?

No. Combining accounts is permanent. Canceling The X Subscription does not separate those accounts or restore previous Cursor, SuperGrok or X Premium subscriptions.

Can I cancel a single team seat?

Yes. On Team plans, a canceled seat stays active until the end of the billing period. Reassigning it before then keeps it active. While the whole plan is set to cancel, you cannot add members.

Does cancelling stop Grok API charges?

No. The Grok API is billed separately in the xAI console at model rates. Cancelling a consumer subscription does not remove console API keys or prepaid API credit.
