What Is The X Subscription? How Grok, Cursor and X Share One Plan (November 2026)

Updated · By topai.one editorial team

Quick answer: The X Subscription is one plan that bundles Grok, Cursor and X. Grok and Cursor draw from a shared weekly usage pool. X benefits depend on the tier and apply when you connect a personal X account. New self-serve customers start here. Existing SuperGrok, Cursor or X Premium customers can keep their current plans or optionally Unify. Current tiers and terms: x.ai/pricing (checked November 4, 2026). Background on the older brand: What is SuperGrok?.

What does one subscription cover?

Per the overview:

  • Grok and Cursor share the included weekly usage pool for eligible first-party usage.
  • Workspace and billing live at grok.com/dashboard. A workspace can be individual or team; people can belong to more than one workspace.
  • X benefits follow the plan and apply when you add a personal X account. On a team plan, each member with a seat connects their own personal X account.
  • Third-party models in Cursor (Claude, GPT and similar) are not included. They bill at API list prices from the first use and are paid from prepaid credit.

Individual tiers at a glance

New self-serve customers choose from Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra. Feature highlights from x.ai/pricing and the pricing docs (no dollar amounts reprinted here):

Plan Included usage vs Plus Notable adds
Free Limited Limited Grok chat and agents; standard X
Plus Base Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine, Build; Grok API access; Cursor; X Premium-style creator features
Premium 4x Grok Bot; latest models; faster responses; cloud agents; code hosting and AI code reviews; broader ad-free X
Super 15x Higher usage; 1080p 15s videos; priority at peak times
Ultra 50x Largest usage pool

xAI recommends Premium for new AI users, Super for daily agent users, Ultra for power users, and Plus for social creators with light AI use.

How usage and Additional Usage work

From the usage-limits docs:

  1. Each paid seat gets a weekly pool for eligible first-party Grok and Cursor surfaces.
  2. Usage rates vary by product, so different activities draw different amounts.
  3. Additional Usage means third-party model use in Cursor, plus first-party use beyond the included weekly pool.
  4. Top-ups buy Additional Usage credits. Auto Top-up and spending caps are controlled in account settings.
  5. On team plans, seats do not share weekly pools; the team shares a prepaid balance for Additional Usage.

Grok Bot is included on Premium, Super and Ultra only, and Bot usage draws from that seat’s shared weekly pool.

Teams seats

Team plans are available on Premium, Super and Ultra seats (Plus is not available for teams). Each seat matches the same usage as the individual tier. Members can mix seat tiers on one team. Team plans add centralized billing and administration plus usage analytics. Details and current seat terms: x.ai/pricing and the pricing docs.

Unify: optional, permanent, with a prorated refund

Switching is optional. Your current plan, price and features continue unless you change or cancel.

If you do Unify (overview):

  • Eligible Cursor and Grok accounts combine under one subscription, workspace and bill.
  • Selected Cursor, SuperGrok and paid X Premium subscriptions are cancelled at checkout.
  • You get an automatic prorated refund for unused time (refund timing depends on your bank; see Invoices & Refunds in the docs).
  • The switch is permanent. Support cannot undo it.
  • A new billing cycle starts on the day you switch.
  • Apple / Google caveats: Cursor billed through the Apple App Store is not cancelled by Unify—you must cancel in iPhone/iPad Settings. Grok / Grok Bot / X Premium bought through Apple are cancelled with a refund request to Apple (Apple decides). Google Play purchases should be checked in Play after switching; cancel there if still set to renew.

Who can switch

  • Existing self-serve Individual and Team customers: Unify in Cursor or Grok, or start at accounts.x.ai/unify / cursor.com/unify.
  • Enterprise: some Cursor Enterprise customers without an active Grok account can switch with their account team; other Enterprise accounts cannot switch yet.
  • New customers (including free X-only accounts) start on The X Subscription.
  • Existing Cursor customers can still upgrade or downgrade current Cursor plans without switching, except Apple-billed Cursor plans, which need to switch first.

If you have more than one Cursor account (for example from SuperGrok with Grok Bot), you choose a primary Cursor account when you switch; other Cursor accounts are combined into it when that path is available.

Buy only from official channels

xAI’s pricing FAQ (checked November 4, 2026): subscriptions “are only sold directly through X Subscription Corp. We do not authorize any resellers or third-party sellers.” Accounts bought elsewhere “may be suspended or terminated at any time.”

Cancel later

Cancelling The X Subscription does not separate unified accounts or restore previous Cursor, SuperGrok or X Premium subscriptions. Channel steps: How to cancel SuperGrok or The X Subscription.
